Strategic Communication

Learn to create effective, innovative and responsible messages about brands and organizations.

Two students and a faculty member discussing class project

If you’re curious how brands earn attention, build trust and drive results, TCU’s strategic communication program will teach you the tools of advertising and public relations.

You’ll learn how to conduct and use research, write and create content for digital, print and broadcast platforms, craft messages to connect with audiences, choose media strategically and evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.

Outside of the classroom, you’ll have opportunities to sharpen your skills through internships with local agencies, companies and nonprofits. You can also compete in national advertising and public relations annual competitions; TCU teams have a strong track record of success, placing in the top 10 at the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) National Student Advertising Competition and the Public Relations Student Society of America’s (PRSSA) Bateman Competition in recent years.
